About Us

My name is Melanie Levesque I am a Certified Pet Groomer as well as a Certified Pet Care Technician.

As a child, I was an avid animal lover and always knew I would be working with animals as my career. My parents were always supportive of my love for animals and growing up, I cared for cats, dogs, turtles, budgies, hamsters, bunnies and fish (just to name a few!).

I started volunteering at the Moncton SPCA when I was 16 and eventually fell in love with an American Staffordshire Terrier named Brandy. She had been surrendered to the shelter and looking for a new home. I bonded quickly with her during my visits and shortly after, she entered our home and our hearts and opened me up to the world of dogs, responsible pet ownership and eventually the pet care industry.

I started working with pets full time in 2002 at a Pet Resort and completed a grooming course in 2004. I have been practicing and loving it ever since. I keep myself up to date with new developments by reading and researching various pet related topics to ensure that your pet receives best care possible.

Opening my own business was the logical next step as it allowed me to operate the way I believe is best for the animals. Our philosophy of putting the animals first ensures that you and your pet get the best grooming experience possible.

A very important part of Best Friend Pet Spa is my partner, Christopher Vrensen. Although you will not find him squeezing anal glands; without his love, support and hard work, my dreams would still be on hold. He brings out the best in me and I am thankful everyday that we have each other.

Christopher and I currently share our home with Riley, a little mixed breed who was found dodging cars, Emma, a sweet, sweet kitty, Mango and Olive, a pair of Lovebirds and a variety of fish.

Our pets are extremely important to us and we want what is best for them. We feel that is a common trait between us and our clients and we will do everything we can to ensure that your pets are satisfied.
